About

Lindsay Tyler is a visual artist based in Michigan, working primarily in acrylic and mixed media. Her practice is rooted in themes of resilience, transformation, and personal truth, often conveyed through layered abstraction and symbolic storytelling. Inspired by the natural beauty of Michigan’s lakes and rivers—as well as her own lived experiences with grief, illness, and resilience, her work explores the tension between control and chaos, the organic and the constructed, the visible and the unseen.

Lindsay began painting in 2022 after earning a degree in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts from Central Michigan University (2012). Her work quickly gained attention for its emotional rawness and technical nuance. She has exhibited in juried exhibitions and museum shows across Michigan, New York, Colorado, California, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. Her painting Wilt was on view for ArtPrize 2025 in Grand Rapids, and her piece Sweepstakes was accepted into the 96th Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition at the Muskegon Museum of Art.

In 2025, Lindsay won a People’s Choice Award at the “Art of Nature” exhibition in Michigan and earned third place in the international “Under a Dark Sky” art competition the previous year. She is currently represented online by Covet Art Gallery in Oceanside, California, and continues to seek out meaningful exhibition opportunities that challenge traditional ideas of beauty, identity, and strength.

When she isn't painting, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the outdoors, including fishing and gardening.
