Lindsay Tyler

Lindsay Tyler is a Michigan-based visual artist whose acrylic and mixed media paintings explore the tension between control and chaos through layered abstraction, fluid movement, and bold natural imagery. Drawing inspiration from Michigan’s inland lakes, rivers, and shorelines—as well as personal experiences of memory, loss, and transformation—her work bridges intuitive process with symbolic storytelling.

Lindsay graduated from CMU in 2012 and began painting in 2022. She has since been exhibited in numerous juried shows and galleries across Michigan and beyond, including the Detroit Artists Market, Anton Art Center, Pontiac Creative Arts Center, Modern Visual Arts in Pennsylvania, Covet Gallery in California and Main Street Arts in New York. Her work has been recognized with awards including 3rd Place in the Under a Dark Sky national contest in Mackinaw City and a People’s Choice honor. In 2025, she was selected as one of six featured artists in the Michigan Institute for Contemporary Art’s Pride Exhibition and will debut Wilt at ArtPrize in Grand Rapids.

Combining fluid art techniques with traditional brushwork and metallic or interference accents, Lindsay’s paintings reflect both natural environments and emotional interiors—inviting viewers into spaces that feel both deeply personal and universally resonant
